Nurturing plants and children

Two things are happening here: newly-planted flowers and a tree are being nurtured by fresh water, and a child is being nurtured by an adult willing to take time.
It's almost always easier and faster (and neater) to do a task yourself than to involve a child in doing it with you. Too often, we "grown-ups" are all about efficiency. But when you allow a child to be involved, the impact is impossible to measure. I believe so much good comes to the curiosity, the self-confidence, and the natural abilities of the developing child when they are allowed or invited to participate in simple "adult" tasks.
Bonnie is really good at doing this, as are our children and their spouses - the parents of our grandchildren. I'm always proud and happy when I witness it. I #GiveThanks for adults who are willing to nurture and teach, even if it takes extra time.
