Mission friends
Bonnie and I continue to serve our humanitarian services mission. We have been serving from home for about 10 1/2 months now, and are grateful that we have been able to continue to contribute to the efforts of LDS Charities in Argentina and the nearby countries. It hasn't been ideal; we've dearly missed the joy of serving in the country, meeting the people, experiencing the culture, and directly seeing the results of the donations.
One of the joys of being in our particular assignment in Argentina, based in the Area Office of the South America South Area, was that there were a dozen senior couples also serving there in various other assignments. We were able to support and encourage each other, socialize together, and become good friends.
When all of us returned home, most of us were able to continue with our assignments. We're scattered all over the western US. But we stay in touch using wonderful electronic tools that are a great blessing. Tonight we had a Zoom chat with most of us. We love to "get together" every few weeks and continue that blessing of supporting, encouraging, and strengthening bonds.
I #GiveThanks for the privilege of serving, for the power of technology to do good, and for the blessing of so many good people who have become part of our life.
